Ashamed

We were tipped off to this article posted on the Centennial Blog and couldn’t be more ashamed of the blatant bias and disappointment:

Unbeliever in the White House

Posted by Former Colorado Senator John Andrews

July 4, 2009, finds me filled with positive patriotism as always, but with a shadow of concern.

Our country has had the occasional president who did not believe in the truths of the Declaration or the restraints of the Constitution. But we have never had one who did not believe in the essential goodness of America itself. In Barack Obama, sadly, we now have a president who is an unbeliever of all three.

I am confident we will defeat him and survive him. Yet this is a somber Independence Day for me, because of the grave danger he and his personality cult and his socialist agenda pose to this land we love. With this bad man in power, Americans face a new and deadly challenge to our ideals. Let us rise to the occasion.

In all honesty, this under-educated lacky of the GOP doesn’t surprise me with his comments. I do not worship Barack Obama, but I do know that no man or women on earth can guess as to what true faith lies in the heart of anyone.

The link between the GOP and evangelicals shows an undeniable lack of understanding of Christ’s true purpose on earth and their refusal to change in a world that needs Christ.

I hope that beyond the next two generations of GOP supporters, a real admittion of failure of the current leadership is realized and then changed… rapidly.

    Ashamed and Embarrassed

I am seriously concerned about the direction the University is taking. I have read partisan posts about democrats, the president, etc and now this post. It saddens me that such a great institution that focused on teaching it students to seek the truth, think critically is essentially selling out to a political party or line of thought.

I understand schools have a specific temperament or leaning in political matters, but this type of posting with the university’s name on it is not representing the institution CCU professes to be. What happen to academic discourse, thinking critically, and growing to change the world we live in.

I am ashamed my alma mater would sell itself and its integrity out to align politically with one party as though that party is deemed the political party the bible says we should follow. This institute and the university have the ability to stand with integrity as an academic institution that is CCU’s mission not to be a political launch pad for pundits. CCU should be and was an academic institution in which people from all walks of life, political bending, and status could pursue truth via open academic dialogue, discourse, and discovery. This used to be held in high regards encompassed student pride and respect for CCU. With this institute and the message it is sending out is not conducive to open academic discourse and discovery of truth – instead will be attracting and creating an academic environment for those who don’t hold views to the right. With diversity, and I don’t mean ethnicity, but in views we will graduate robots who will adhere to a political dogma opposed to making critical choices about how to be Christian serving others in this world.
